Wednesday of last week was the worst day of my entire life. Thursday I got up and went to a Burn.
I arrived at dusk, greeted by friends at every turn. From coming in the gate, parking, setting up my gear, and heading out to play, I made it HOME.
Hearts at night.
Campin’ at nite.
There were so many hugs, so much joy. Coracle was hands down for us this year one of the best burns ever. We were home as one BIG FAMILY for four days- magic.
Apollo talking with folks.
We danced, we fed each other, we made art, we made more art, we made more art, the kids made a LOT of art, running barefoot through the grass, getting in trouble blasting across the fields we made MAGIC.
Apollo was massive hit. We set her up along the main road and people stopped all day to talk with her. She talks as long as you want, she answers all sorts of questions with aplomb, she makes jokes, gets into deep discussions about life and the universe, she is a mind blowing art machine.
We needed this weekend- I wish you all could have joined. A big heart full of love goes out to all of you today. I know how you’re feeling and I’m here to tell you: don’t mourn - dance.
And when you’re done dancing, organize. Support the organizations that share your beliefs, participate in marches, do street level organizing, fight at every turn. Support your friends and family and do not stop. Then, dance.
The battle is over. The war continues.
